Everything they do is an "homage" from an original idea (Kylie Minogue is the only one who is always upfront about where she gets her inspirations from). That's how these musical "icons" are truly made. It's partially the record label's idea, but mainly the artists knows what's going on and is completely okay with stealing other's material to get ahead. I found this blog that shows all of Madonna's iconic photo shoots and album covers, and another site that shows in her 25 year history all the lawsuits she has incurred from stealing music from various sources. Beyonce is actually modeling herself off of MADONNA. Like everyone has been saying this is the nature of the business. Oh, and for the record, Why respond if you didn't care? Just wondering. Anyway, I was responding to the one who believed that stealing was no big deal if you get exposure from someone stealing from you. LOL Yeah right, I'm a white girl name BC ( tossing blonde hair back). Lighten up girl, Did she steal your song? Are you BC Jean or whatever her name is? Let us know please. I can read sweetie, but when I wrote 'And ur point is?' that means I really didn't give a damn what you wrote. It is your product !!!Your creation!!! You have worked on writing, editing ,and re-writing your material for hours, days months.SOMEONE TOOK A PART OF YOU!!!!!!! It's not always about money and exposure. When someone TAKES your material they take a part of you. If you were you would know that when a writer writes it's about more than just exposure. It's easiy to tell you are not a writer, or a writer in progress. ![]() So what, thats my opinion you have yours, and the point is? Who knew BC Jean before Beyonce recorded her song? Nobody! She should be happy for the exposure she got off Beyonces name ![]() That is what I responded to so once again, Thank you. No thank you because the ORIGINAL poster was the one who said she should be privileged if it was stolen. Toby Gad gave it to her.he's the producer, BC Jean is the writer. i think the song doesn't seem right because it doesn't seem like Bee. So let me get this straight, you work hard to put out something original and you should feel privileged that somebody stole it from you. SORRY.BUT IF IT WAS STOLEN, OLD GIRL SHOULD FEEL PRIVILEGED THAT SOMEBODY ON BEYONCE'S CALIBER THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH WILD, CAUSE I LOVE THE VIDEO, BUT THE SONG IS NOT WHAT EVERYBODY IS TRYING TO MAKE IT OUT TO BE! HOLLA! Justin Timberlake)Īnd folks say she jacked the "Single Ladies" video dance moves from Fosse from the 60's. God Blessed Our Love (Ave Maria Interlude)ġ0. The other cd will be titled her alter ego "I Am.Sasha"-upbeat dance tracks a la "Get Me Bodied". One cd will be titled "I Am.Beyonce"-more R&B, introverted, and sexy. It's also been rumored that B's upcoming I Am album will actually be a double cd. More rumors about B's upcoming cd when you read the rest. Y'all know Papa Knowles and them love to do whatever they please. I hear legal actions are about to be on and poppin'. ![]() And we all know B likes to claim she "wrote" a song even when she only changes one music note or a chorus. And honestly, this type of ish happens everyday. The same thing happened with Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry". Gad did co-write the song with BJ Jean, but when BC's record deal fell through, he took the track and shopped it around to big name artists. Some folks say it’s certainly as good as Beyonce’s if not better. You can hear BC Jean’s version of her own song, written with German pop-factory producer Toby Gad, at ![]() According to sources, she and her manager/mother have been strong-armed by Beyonce’s people and others who saw gold in "If I Were A Boy" and didn’t care how they got it. Those who’ve met her says she’s smart and "gorgeous." But BC (her initials, legend has it, are for "beautiful child") got a cold dose of reality this summer when it comes to the record business. By then, it was too late.īC Jean is a hot, up-and-coming 21 year old female singer songwriter from San Diego. The answer: it was held up by endless legal wrangling since, in the long hallowed tradition of the music business, the young woman who wrote the melody and lyrics for "If I Were A Boy" had no idea Beyonce had even recorded her song until a stranger called with the news. The single missed the Grammy deadline of September 30th, but it was ready to go at least 3 weeks ago. Fox News (who we all know is not a fan of the Knowles family) put B on blast about her stealing the song. Rumor has it she swagger jacked the "If I Were A Boy" track. It's officially B season when the rumors start to pop off left and right about ya girl Beyonce.
